I had my hair done recently. A friend of mine told me Audrey Hepburn was the first to start the trend of blonde highlights. I enjoy saying I was going for an Audrey look. Her look is simply timeless. I was playing around with the idea of going all blonde, like Kim Kardashian. I thought against it. Also, do we know if she is now back to her dark, natural hair color? I feel like this is as imbiguous as her marriage to Kanye West. Apparently the up-keep is difficult.
Anyways, I needed a change. I did the typical girl move. Again, I am not ashamed. I cut my hair shorter and added a little blonde. I am getting ready for summer. I needed a new start after coming back from spring break. I feel like my look is always renewed after a hair style change.
A friend of mine gave me this poncho. It is from Steve Madden. I love pairing this piece with a denim sham. Today I also decided to wear my kakki pants. I found these pants at a thrift store in Lincoln Park called Crossroads Trading Co. They are from Forever21. Come to think about it, so are my boots. My jean sham is from Target. It is extremely hard to find high heeled boots that feel comfortable. I also walk around the store to try the shoes out. I always get shoes a little more snug if they are heels. I do not like it when my foot moves around. That is a recipe for a blister.
I would wear this outfit to work. When the warmer weather starts to show its face again, the weight of the long, heavy winter jackets comes off. I felt relief when I walked outside without a coat, yet still snug in my warm poncho. I love the feeling.
“People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed and redeemed. Never throw anyone out.” -Audrey Hepburn
My two words for this outift is Fresh and Timeless.
