I bought a wonderful kimono and decided to dress it up. What do you think?
My dress is simple, black, no-sleeved and has a deep V-neck. The length goes to my knees. Since I am only 5 foot 2 inches, I enjoy a longer skirt with heels because it elonggates my torso and the heel gives me the height I want.
A friend once told me to always have a classic black dress in your closet. She went on to explain that simple is the best because it does not distract from your face nor your natural beauty. Your outfit should never take the spot light of off your face. Because of this I have five black, simple dresses. You can never go wrong with black, even in the spring.
My hat is from H&M. I am very attatched to it, so you will probably see it often in my blog this spring and summer. I think the hat looks great with the kimono. It gives off a bohemian vibe. This style of hat has been in style since last fall, and probably will continue at least through August.
If you decide on wearing black in the spring, I suggest adding light neutrals and/or a pastel color. I have a light pink shade of lipstick on which adds color to a dark outfit.
My necklace is from American Eagle. It is a small envolope made out of copper. Most of the time my jewelry has a meaning. My friend lives in Wisconsin with her husband and new baby. She writes me a hand written letter each month. This necklace is very important to me, because it reminds me of her. I rarely ever wear jewelry that does not have a story. I will continue to share the stories behind what I wear.
My sandals are from Urban Outfitters. The shoe is made of leather straps with a wooden heel. This style is very comfortable to wear.
My two words for this outfit: Boho and Simple
