I remember growing up, my sister always wanted to play with our babydolls. I would join her-but only if we were going to be moms on a boat headed to Europe. I have always dreamt of going to London. Could you imagine my excitement when my Dad paid for a family vacation to not only Paris, but also London? Just like any dream, however, things are not always as they may seem.
This post is on my thoughts on the life happenings in London.
I was watching Gilmore Girls today. Yes, that is my TV show of choice. I finished watching all of Friends, all of How I Met Your Mother, and I keep up with New Girl. Great, now you are judging me. Anyways, I am watching the episode when Lorelai and Chris are in Paris. I love Paris. I was laughing along as they fell asleep because of jet leg, encountered rude French service, the inability to find a hamburger and the beauty of Paris at night. Paris makes you do crazy things you haven’t already done. I call this inspiration to get creative. In honor of my favorite TV show of this month, here are some highlights from my trip!
Driving out from the city in Illinois is full of traffic around 3 pm. When you go out farther west you begin to see fields for miles. Little red and white farm houses line the road. You know this because you see everything from the high way. You can imagine my love of the California hills. The round topped mountains are filled with the state’s flower, a golden poppy. The bright orange flower adds a pop of color to the already bright, green grass with the contrast of the blue sky above. The Chicago weather this year has been especially miserable. The Alaskan air apparently escaped down to the midwest, giving us -20 degree chills. The sky that looks over the Michigan Lake, usually baby blue in the summer time, is a harsh grey color. The scenery and the weather was enough to convince me that the time was now. Spring break came quick this year, but not quick enough. I packed my three suitcases and hopped on a plane headed to the Oakley Airport in Northern California.
