I have seen Chicago at her best and worse. In the heat of the summer, the sad damp spring, the bright colorful fall and the freezing winter. If I were to move from my city and had to choose only one month to visit, I would come during December. There is one thing that makes winter different from any other time of the year. Christmas lights on Michigan Ave. I was taking pictures for a friend and spent my Saturday running around the city. I started at the river walk and found myself by the Water Tower. It was 55 degrees here in Chicago. This is extremely rare for December. I took full advantage and captured a little bit of the season, featuring the bright Christmas lights.
Recently someone told me, people who are not like you are like water and rocks. The water fights against the rocks, but both make up the stream. That’s great and all, but it is very difficult to get along with those who are the opposite of you.
I have brushed up against many people who are not the same as I. For this I am grateful. I have learned so much. Just like rocks on a beach, I think it has shaped me. I still have much shaping to do. However, it is very refreshing to look next to you and see another person who thinks, acts and does life the way you do.
